October thorough December 13, 2012

It is hard to believe that it has been 3 months since our last posting. Please forgive us for not making a posting sooner. During the first part of October we were having problems with our internet server, but thank the Lord it has been fixed and we have been back online at home since the latter part of October.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

We greet you with this verse, as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ next week.
The last 3 months have just flown by with exciting and wonderful activities that God has blessed us to be a part of.

In October, Jody spent a week with the MTW medical team along with Will LaRose, Bob and Joan Farrar, Russell Rothchild and Craig Moore in Togo, West Africa. She had an exciting and enlightening week of working in the triaj area of the clinic, set up at the local church in the village of Kpalime. She enjoyed being able to use her EMT skills-taking vital signs and inter reacting with the patients. The team saw over 200 patients a day and the doctors were able to pray with the patients after treatment. It was a well-organized medical mission with an on-site lab, 5 doctors, a dentist and many different medications that were dispensed. While Jody, Joan, Russell and Craig were busy at the clinic, Will and Bob taught 50 local pastors and their wives for 8 hours a day. It was an opportunity that Jody will never forget, but she has been heard saying that her curiosity about Africa has been fulfilled, and she was very happy to return to the work in Romania. She presented the Togo mission trip at the Nocrich church and later at the Stanca Baptist Church in Cisnadie the first Sunday in November. A video about Jody's Togo mission trip will be posted soon. We had some difficulty with our internet speed and couldn't upload it quite yet.

While Jody was traveling around, Robert and Randy were busy working on the dining hall addition getting it roofed and closed in before winter, and working on the upgraded heating system that needed to be finished before the cold weather arrived.

The rest of the month, we continued our weekly meetings with Ghijasa de Jos. Two of our girls in Ghijasa made decisions for Christ during this month. Please pray for Dia and Ana as they strive to learn more about what being a Christian really means.

We also started planning and practicing for our annual Christmas evangelization. Also, we implemented the youth of Nocrich this year, and started introducing this idea to them during our weekly youth meetings.

At the end of October, Robert had gallbladder removal surgery in Targu Mures. Jody and Randy stayed in the room with him. He stayed 2 nights in the hospital at a private Romanian clinic and recovered well. The first week was more difficult as he had some fever and pain, but the Lord blessed and he has made a full recovery!

The month of November was very busy preparing and practicing sometimes 3 or 4 different times during the week for the Christmas evangelization. Robert was busy getting the sets ready, as well as, our regular meetings with youth in Nocrich and Ghijasa. Our youth activity for the month of November, was a progressive dinner, with 4 families from the church in Nocrich participating and providing the different courses for the meal.

This was the first time our youth had experienced a progressive dinner and everyone really seemed to enjoy it. We were able to pray and sing at every house. Also, on November 20, we met with Mark and Matthew Walker for our annual EBF field meeting in Ticisul Vechi.

Of course, here it is now December, and we just finished with our annual Christmas evangelization production. We are working on getting everything put back away, and also on getting together a video that we can post in English on this blog.

Thank you all for your continued thoughts, prayers and financial support. God is truly blessing and we are honored to be His servants here in Romania. Stay tuned for the upcoming Christmas video.
Wishing you and yours a blessed Christmas and a New Year filled with the joy of Jesus!
