Praises and Prayers

Just a quick update. We apologize for no pictures at this time. First of all, we praise the Lord for Robert's safe return to America from Romania on June 22. As mentioned in our previous blog update, Robert was returning for Randy's scheduled spine surgery on June 26. However, on June 23, we received news from the insurance company that they have denied the medical necessity for Randy's surgery. This was a shock and disappointment to us and the surgeons. The surgeons are more convinced than ever of Randy's need for the surgery. Over the last 2 weeks, we have been busy assisting the surgeon's office in gathering necessary information for an appeal. They are expected to send in the appeal on Monday, July 10. Please pray for the Lord's will in all of this.

We also wanted to thank everyone who prayed for the repairs to be finished on the van and returned to the camp after Robert's return to America. The Lord blessed and through our Romanian pastor and friends, they were able to take the van back to the camp after the necessary repairs.

The last couple of weeks, we have had the pleasure of reconnecting with our mission board president, Bob Klint, and his wife, Melissa. Through the graciousness of Melissa's parents, we have been in the Michiana area at their cottage. This has been a great location and blessing for us to work through the doctors' issues, reconnect as a family, study, and take some time to relax. Since we aren't normally in the country for the July 4th celebrations, Randy especially enjoyed the fireworks show over Lake Michigan.

We covet your continued prayers for the students in Romania in Cisnadie, (Dia and Cristina), Ghijasa de Jos (Denisa and Ioana, and all the preschoolers), and in Nocrich. Also please continue to pray for wisdom for us concerning the medical decisions for Randy.
