First of all, we want to share our greetings to everyone and hope that you all had a very blessed celebration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, on Easter. During the month of April, we continued with English classes twice a week, and prepared for our Easter presentation in Ghijasa de Jos. We were blessed to have Joy LaRose, granddaughter of Will and Gerri LaRose, visiting to help us for 6 weeks with several projects around the camp, and especially with the on-going English classes.

Here are a couple of pictures of the Easter program at Ghijasa de Jos. The program was actually scheduled for Easter Sunday. Our hope was to be able to share with the villagers what the children have learned, and most importantly, to share the importance of the celebration of the day, the resurrection of our Lord. Just one day before the program we assisted an elderly lady, who had fallen and passed out drunk next to the road. The day of the program, we attempted to visit the parents of the children in an effort to encourage them to attend the program. To our dismay, most of the parents were not home, or drunk if they were home. Even some of our previous students, ages, 14-17 were "partying" and drunk, dancing and in compromising situations when we tracked them down to come to practice. As we returned back to the culture center where we were going to have the program, we prayed for these children that are still in the dark, and prayed that God would use us to continue to shine His light through us in their hearts.
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

The program began with about 30 mostly parents from the village. The children had memorized Bible verses and wore costumes as they recited poems and verses.
Joy LaRose and Bianca, our 14 year old student, sung a worship song in English and Romanian. Robert shared a video of the children and all the activities over the last year, and then shared a devotional and prayer with everyone. Family pictures were taken of those families that attended, so they could have a rememberance of this Easter celebration. Please continue to pray for these children, and the families of Ghijasa de Jos. Last week, the children took their final exam for the English class and all 13 students that came to the final passed. They all received certificates of completion, and refreshments after class.

We will continue weekly visits with the children throughout the summer, with different weekly activities planned.

As for on-going camp projects, at this time, the third cabin has been insulated and partially wired for electricity. The multi-purpose room has been partially painted to prepare for the PVC flooring which will be laid this summer.

Also, fencing material has been purchased for the back garden of the camp. This was a necessity and became a priority after having the camper we use to house couples, broken into and a radio stolen. We have also had several problems with stray dogs in the back around the cabins, and for safety sake, have pushed the fence project up the list. Please pray for safety as the old fence must be removed, a 1/2 meter ditch dug around the 100 meters where the fence will be installed, and the new fence installed. Robert and William will be pouring the fencing footers, and installing the fence after completing cabin three. One of our neighbors, has agreed to help remove the old fence and help dig the footers.

Also in the month of May, we were able to welcome a 2 week visit from Will LaRose. We are truly thankful for his visit with us and encouragement. He helped in figuring the needs for the fence, painting, unloading fencing materials, speaking in the churches and with neighbors, and acquiring needed materials.

Shortly after his arrival, we were also blessed to have our middle son, William, return home for a summer visit, with his girlfriend, Miriam Vale. Poor William has a list a mile long to complete for the summer!

Also, Martin and Christie Fingerele visited for a week and assisted with camp projects. English class exam and visiting neighbors.
Thank you all once again for all your love and support. Our prayers are with you all. Write when you can, we love hearing from you.
