During the kids’ spring break from school, we had an Easter camp with the kids from Ghiajsa de Jos and a few youth from Nocrich, Ana Maria, Cristiana Corman and Toader. You can also see Stefan, (previously mentioned) standing in the back behind Randy. Because of a lack of leaders, we stayed in the cabins with the respective boy and girl campers. The camp started off a bit rough with van issues in Sibiu after taking the girls to their dental appointments on the first day of camp. We had the camp over the Easter weekend so the kids could attend church with us. They all enjoyed visiting the big Baptist church in Sibiu, Betania, and didn’t realize that there were so many Christians in Sibiu.
We studied the week of Easter with the kids and the things that Jesus did preparing for his
crucifixion, burial and resurrection. The kids were able to help plant some garden plants for the camp and the boys enjoyed seeing the gravel get dumped for the new road.
Check out the side bar links with the little black boxes to see fun videos of the spring camp and other projects. Also the last night is always fun with songs around the camp fire for a perfect close of camp.
Please continue to pray for the Ghijasa youth as they are entering a difficult age. Four of the girls have made professions of faith in the last couple of years, and are striving to continue to learn. Please continue to pray for the boys that are hearing the truth, to understand it with their hearts. We continue to meet with the Ghijasa group and will finish up the spring program this month.
