When we were children, remember VBS, Vacation Bible School was always a place occupied by many children, from all walks of life, different home dynamics. 

Some kids were nice-some not so nice. VBS was a place that we could go (regardless of where we came from or our situation) that the atmosphere and environment was always so encouraging so uplifting. Seems like even the not so nice kids, were nicer. Seemed like they were the ones that never wanted to go home. The adults were interested in us. They wanted to teach us about Jesus and what He did, does and will do for us. We would sing songs, play games, and sometimes even make something to take home. I know it was just a place, but that place was filled with happiness. We felt safe, and we knew we were loved. 

We have have such a place in a little village just outside Sibiu, Romania-Windsor’s Fair Haven. 

In the middle of a sea of humanity, where life isn’t so easy, Windsor’s Fair Haven is a place where hundreds of people over the years can and have come together from different homes, places, and even different countries- to a clean, safe atmosphere- and learn about what Jesus did, does, and will do for them. A safe environment where people can relax, rest, pray, sing, play games, and learn about our Savior, Jesus Christ. And Yes, usually, the not so nice kids are the ones who don’t want to go home. 

Unfortunately, over the years, weather, and movement of the earth, has taken its toll on Fair Haven. In order for us to keep Fair Have a safe, clean, and happy place, it was necessary to demolish the toilet and shower houses. We are faithfully moving forward to rebuild them. We will need to raise additional funds in the conservative amount of $15,000 to complete this 18’x28’ men’s, women’s and family shower and toilet house. We have already put all the money we can squeeze out of our personal budget. We are asking you to pray with us that God would lay upon some of you, and other VBS soldiers, to help us finish the project. 

Jody and I never thought when we would sing the song in VBS, “I’m in the Lord’s Army,” that we would actually HAVE a Lord’s army, basic training base training, to fight for the souls of men. We even have three cabins named Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie!
