As seems to be the case in the last few updates, we find ourselves apologizing for not getting an update sooner. We have not had internet available at home since our return from the States in May, due to an antenna problem through our server. Hopefully, it will be repaired soon, and we can update on a more regular basis.
May brought a quick trip back to the States for us for a couple of reasons. We filed for guardianship of Randy so that he could remain under our Romanian Visa and also allows us to make medical decisions for him. We also left William in the States at Robert's brother's house, Phill, to prepare for college this fall. It is a difficult thing to leave our right hand man there in the States, but we know that God will give us the grace every day to continue in our calling, and also allow William to grow and mature through all of this.
In June, we returned to Romania to finish the camp bath and shower houses. Robert worked diligently daily, in spite of a cracked rib, to finish the electrical, plumbing, and hardward that needed installed for the doors and walls, on the men's and women's sides of the bath house. By God's grace, he was able to finish them enough to be used by the team that joined us this last month.
Also, in this month, we had Johanna Winters join us for a visit for 2 weeks, to help with
some projects, food prep, and even a little mowing! She was a big encouragement. Johanna came a few years ago with Mark Walker's team.
July 9, our partnering team for VBS from Safe Harbor Church in Maryland, arrived. They were an energetic team of eager souls from the ages of 16-67. All ten of them were willing and ready to serve. The team was led by Will LaRose, not only a dear friend, but also a member of our EBF mission board.
This well-planned group came prepared with crafts in hand, and pre-planned Bible stores to share with the children. Our group worked together with 7 Romanians and split into 2 teams, along with Robert, Jody and Randy, to cover 4 villages a day, 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon, for 5 days. Near the end of the week, another team member, Greg,
joined us and entertained the children with his musical talents. One village, we specifically asked prayer about, because there is no evangelical church in this forgotten village of Ghijasa de Jos. We were able to meet with the director of the school and gain her permission to hold the VBS in the school. The children were so eager in all the villages, that we had to find more crafts and snacks for them. There were an average of 100-150 children a day in all the villages combined! The Gospel message was shared through songs and Bible time. We even played a few games with the kids. Please pray as we continue to follow up on two of the four villages during this next week, with our next team. Also, we had three of the men from the team, stay at the camp during the VBS time to work on some projects around the camp. We were very encouraged that they were able to stain and varnish the front and back sides of the mult-purpose rooms, and build a breezeway roof over one of the sidewalks.
We thank each and every member of the team for their work in reaching the children of Romania with the gospel of Christ.
Now we are preparing for another team of six, coming from North Carolina, to follow up in Ghijasa de Jos and Tichandeal.
We covet your continued prayers as God has laid on our hearts to continue working in Ghijasa de Jos. Please pray for these children and that God will give us wisdom as we show the love of Christ to them. We continue to keep you all in our prayers.
We look forward to hearing from you on our email. fryensro@yahoo.com
Blessings to all,
Robert, Jody and Randy Frye
Please enjoy this short video that shows the children from 2 of 4 villages we covered during VBS last week. Turn up your volume and may your heart be touched to pray for these souls.
