The month of August brought our girl's camp. The camp was originally offered to the girls from the village church that we were working in, along with the older girls from Ghijasa de Jos.
God had other plans. After a few disappointments with scheduling, the camp was opened to younger girls. A three day counselor training camp came first, with the two leaders from Cisnadie, Ricky and Pati. The training focused, not only on sharing Christ, but showing His love and God will bring the increase, we must just be willing and obedient. After much prayer, it was decided that the camp would be opened for girls between the ages of 9-15. It was evident during the week, that God has planned it this way.
It was a wonderful week, with 4 campers, 2 leaders and alot of one-on-one time with the counselors and campers. These girls had never been to camp, except one, and none to a Christian camp.
It was a learning time for us all, including the leaders. Every morning and evening, the counselors had devotions with their campers, with singing and verses. Breakfast was always exciting. Most of the girls of the village don't normally have breakfast. Throughout the day, we were able to share Christ with crafts, movies, singing, verses, skits, and kindness in games. God truly blessed and we continue to pray that God allow us to water the seeds that have been planted.
One of the counselors, actually
gave her very own Bible and guitar to one of her campers, to encourage her.
It was exciting to see God change the hearts of these campers, to understand that they too, can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Even more exciting for our leaders, was to see that their sacrifice and time was not in vain. As God promises, His Word will not go out in vain.
