After the girls camp in August, we prepared for the Kingdom Builder's from Maryland, led by Willard LaRose coming in October. They have been very instrumental in helping the camp get up and running. As you may have read in past posts, in earlier years they also came and built the cabins, as well as, the all purpose room. We poured 13 cubic meters of cement in prep for the new storage area and the car port. William, our son, who is now in the School of Engineering at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana, was usually my biggest helper in this type of work. In his absence Jody filled his position with style and grace. I was so proud of her and just want to thank her father and mother for teaching her such a strong work ethic. By the end of the month, we had it all down. We also had gathered much of the construction material for the Kingdom Builder's team.

Also during this month we continued our contact with the children in the village. Our sending church, East side Baptist, has a group of children that meet on Sunday nights and are called "The Sunday Night Kids." I thought that was a very original name. They sold lemonade and some cookies to fund a soccer ball / outreach evangelization for children from the villages in our area. As of now, we have purchased over 25 soccer balls and 24 solar lights. The soccer balls went quickly as we gave them with children and we shared the story of "The Sunday Night Kids" from our church. We explained that they had a desire to give a gift to the children of Romania and share with them the blessings that God had given to them.

We also purchased a box of 24 solar lights (relatively new to Romania) We shared with the children how that Jesus said in John 8:12 that He is the Light of the world and that if we come to know Jesus as our Savior, that we too can be a light. Jesus tell us in Matthew 5:14 that we too are to be the light of the world, a city set upon a hill that cannot be hid.
