Girls' Camp 2013 at Windsor's Fair Haven

Greetings to you all this weekend of celebration for many of you of our independence in America. We are truly thankful for the independence that God has granted us in America and join you in prayer for our country.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my Word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

During our girls' camp last week, we truly experienced God's promise, that His Word would not return void. We were blessed to have 4 leaders for the girls that are truly committed to Christ and showed God's love to the girls all week long.

The week before girls' camp, we had our girl leadership training camp for our leaders. We had a few days to teach them our expectations of the camp and with some practical lessons, they understood quickly.

We were blessed to have Andreea, Gina, Crina and Denisa and are praying for their continued support and encouragement to the girls from Ghijasa and Nocrich. They were very busy learning the games, schedules, crafts and rules, and especially preparing to help the girls memorize Bible verses.

Here are a few highlights of our girl leadership training camp.

At the end of the training camp, our leaders give their testimonies in church of how they came to know Christ.

Our girl's camp week was next and filled with fun things to do, crafts that went along with the lesson time, games, songs. skit nights, and even a store that the girls could purchase things by memorizing verses.

Jody taught the lessons of the week and covered Salvation, Jesus the Good Shepherd, The Parable of the Sower and the Seed, and the last two lessons about being the salt and light of the world. Below are some of the pictures of the crafts that the girls did, some of game time, skit nights, and lesson time.

At the end of the week, the girls learned a song to sing in the church on Sunday. After our time together of Friday evening, 4 of the girls asked to pray with their leaders because they wanted to follow Christ. It was a joyous evening. Sunday the girls came to church and stood for the church to pray for them. We are thankful for our Nocrich church and the support they are to the ministry here at Windsor's Fair Haven Camp! We pray for these girls, along with the other 2 girls that have previously made this decision in the village of Ghijasa. It has already been difficult for them after returning home and telling their parents, many of the parents were not happy about the girls' decisions. Please continue to pray for them.

Robert, Toader and Randy were the cooks for the week, and did a great job at mealtimes preparing and cleaning up afterwards. We are so thankful for their participation.

It is our desire to continue to disciple these girls and include them in our Nocrich youth group. We are praying that the parents will allow the girls to come to church, and are working on the logistics of it all happening, with transportation for the people coming from our village and picking up the girls in Ghijasa.

Thank you all for your prayers and support to make this camp possible! It was a wonderful week and we are now gearing up for the boys' camp that will start on Monday. Please continue to pray for the leaders and Robert as he teaches throughout the week. May God bless your summer activities.
