Proverbs 3: 5,6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
This is a very appropriate verse for us at this time, when our hearts and desires are for Romania, but knowing that the Lord has us here in America at this time for His purposes; and also for our lack of understanding in everything that Randy has and is going through presently.
Thank you all for your prayers during our most recent 3 week stay in Romania. We arrived safely back in Indiana on March 16 after a somewhat difficult start to our journey back. Randy became ill the night before the flight, requiring a wheelchair and special services to get through the different connecting flights. The Lord blessed through it all and even gave him rest for the first long layover, with a place to lay down and sleep.
Overall, the trip to Romania went quickly, but we feel that we accomplished the purposes set forth. Although we didn't get to see everyone that we wanted to, the Lord blessed by allowing us to reconnect with our current students with 2 weekend retreats at the camp that gave us opportunity for many Biblical discussions and time for singing. Being able to be a part of Dia and Cristina's baptism was also a wonderful blessing and encouragement. Although a good portion of our time included everyday activities such as paying bills, cleaning, opening up the camp, and paperwork, our most treasured time was spending time with our neighbors, students, and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, as well as, the kids from Ghijasa. Our previous posting includes pictures of these activities.
Since our two weeks of being back in the States, we have reviewed Randy's official medical records. The latest report shows that Randy's rib cage is continuing to narrow towards his backbone causing some constriction in his upper right lung. He continues to be active riding his 3 wheel bike, eating soft foods, and only has mild oxygen problems at night. However, these findings confirm the necessity of continuing to try to find a doctor that can help Randy. He has lung function tests and other consultations with spine and thoracic surgeons in the next week.
We are also busy preparing for our EBF mission's conference that will be hosted here at our home church, East Side Baptist, on April 5-7 next week. This requires presentations, reports, and planning. You are all invited on April 6 at 5:30 pm to the open meeting with the EBF missionaries at East Side Baptist Church. Our pastor, Steve Whicker will open the meeting. It is reported that Don and Joyann Walker, as well as, Dr. Marlon and Kathleen Fletchall plan to attend. You can look forward to hearing from our board president, Bob Klint, and our other missionaries on the board, Mark and Matthew Walker, as well as us.
Please continue to pray for the students in Ghijasa de Jos, especially Denisa and Ioana that remain in the village. Also please pray for Dia and Cristina as they continue their education at the Baptist High School, and struggle with coming from unsaved families. Also please continue to pray for Randy and us as we desire to make the best decisions for him regarding his health. Also please pray for direction concerning summer ministries, the churches of Nocrich and Cisnadie, and our upcoming mission's conference.
May the Lord richly reward and bless you all.
