After many hours of research during the summer and discussions with surgeons and doctors, Randy was referred back to North Carolina to a cardio thoracic surgeon that had consulted on Randy's case in 2017 previous to the spine surgery. He believed he might be able to help Randy if the spine was stable. However, Randy's insurance didn't provide coverage and the scheduled surgery in September that Robert returned back for was cancelled until funding could be approved.

During this time, Jody had made a commitment to provide transportation and triaj for the a medical team that would be serving in the northern part of the country in October 2018. Randy continued to decline but both Robert and Jody felt strongly that God wanted Jody to return to Romania during this time of waiting. God blessed in the midst of the storm, and continued to work for our good and His glory. While there, Jody found a study for the very rare chest wall surgery that the doctor had proposed for Randy to relieve his tracheal compression. The doctor agreed to do the surgery and it was put on the schedule, pending funding. As far as the mass that he was seen for in Cleveland, due to his other more pressing issues, they have delayed any treatment and opted to keep an eye on it.

September 2018

Robert has finally been given his necessary paperwork to leave Romania after applying for his visa. He has his ticket and should be arriving this month. Also, on the August head scans for Randy, they showed a mass or legion of some unknown origin. He will be having further investigations at the Cleveland Clinic this month.
